THE LOWDOWN ON OUR CONSULTANCY...
We take the time to understand you, your people, your pharmacy and your local market. You don't pay extra for this, it's part of the service and is key to making sure we can help support you to grow your business.
Everyone on our consultant team is a pharmacist so you can be sure that they understand your problems from the inside out. From personal experience as well as the underpinning knowledge.
Not just reading the latest report. Although we do that too.
We treat everyone with fairness, honesty and respect. It's important to us. As is providing services that give you value for money.
You are busy. You need help. We focus on delivering practical support that can be implemented immediately. Such as support with delivering MUR’s, NMS and gaining as many points as possible within the QPS.
Our training needs analysis helps you to identify the type of training that you and your team will need to deliver a specific objective. Perhaps there is a new service you want to set up, or you want to develop your team's ability to sell. We can help you map out the route you need to take to get there.
Our bespoke training development puts you truly in charge of your training. If you can't find the training programme that is right for you or if your training needs analysis turns up something original we can support you by developing bespoke training that belongs to you. Only you.
Our leadership development is based around four key challenges. Understanding yourself and your impact. Looking and sounding like a leader, influencing others and creating a direction for the team.
Our stress management helps you to develop strategies to deal with your own experiences of stress. We introduce you to range of techniques and help your identify and perfect the ones that work for you.
Our team building activities are based on these four key elements of effective teamwork; self-awareness, team dynamics, communication and effective group behaviours. We'll develop bespoke activities to match your brief.
Our operational efficiency support looks in depth at your working practices and procedures to identify unnecessary tasks, wasted effort and ways to remove or reduce them. We'll also ensure that you are meeting regulatory and clinical governance requirements while we are there.
Our workflow analysis reviews how people, objects and processes flow through your dispensary to help you make changes that will make all the difference.
Our pharmacy contract services support you in a number of ways; we can ensure that you are fully prepared for both NHS contract and GPhC inspections and support you in delivering against QPS, clinical governance, and advanced services such as MURs and NMS.
HERE IS WHAT OUR CLIENTS THINK...
GPHC inspection visit support
'I had notification of a routine GPhC inspection visit and immediately panicked about what they would be looking at. I think we run a pretty tight ship, but there’s nothing like being put on the spot to make you draw a complete blank when asked something. I wanted to be prepared so asked some friends if they had any suggestions. One recommended Scientia Skills knowing they offered a consultancy service.
As soon as I contacted them they were on the case, finding out exactly what I needed and how they could help in a way to suit me and the business. Before they came to visit they sent over some questions and suggestions so I could prepare and have things ready, this cut down the queries and time on the day. The person who came to see us was really friendly, chatting with all the staff so they were confident and prepared, she did a thorough check on the documents going through each step carefully, and pointed out a couple of small changes we could make easily before the GPhC visit.
A few days later we received a full report that even suggested some longer term developments that were not necessary for the visit but that they thought could help the business. They even remembered when the visit was and contacted us to see how we had got on. The whole team felt so much more confident during the GPhC visit and we did really well, receiving a ‘Good’. I think we would benefit from a visit from a Scientia Skills consultant every year as they provided a fresh perspective on our working practices.'

Having completed the pre-visit forms ahead of an NHS England inspection I realised we could benefit from some assistance in making sure our SOPs were ready for scrutiny. I contacted Scientia Skills as they had been recommended by another pharmacy owner. We were able to arrange a visit very quickly and their consultant spent a day going through the SOPs in the pharmacy, watching processes as they happened and talking to the staff about different scenarios, really getting to know how we work.
They then returned a week or so later with the amended SOPs. They had updated the SOPs to reflect our current practice, removed a number of obsolete and duplicated examples and checked them all thoroughly, even investigating and filling in any blanks for the correct CCG, police drug squad and other contacts, to make sure they were current and relevant.
At all stages the consultant’s emphasis was supporting us with the inspection to ensure our SOPs reflected our practice. Everyone involved at Scientia Skills was professional, friendly and focused on how they could help us. I wouldn’t hesitate to use their services again in the future.
